A Client’s Perspective on Style, Inspiration & The Design Process
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?
I would describe my personal style as classic and timeless, with bright happy colors, and a touch of southern charm! I want our home to be beautiful, but more importantly be a place where everyone feels welcome and comfortable!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE ROOM IN YOUR HOME & WHY?
My favorite room in our house is our family room. This is where we spend the most time together, and we have made so many special memories in this room. It’s where we put our Christmas tree each year, where we play games, where we cuddle up to watch movies, and where we sit and have deep family conversations. And now, with the help of Brandeis and Pillar & Peacock, it is also beautiful!

ARE THERE ANY PLACES, DESTINATIONS, OR INTERIORS YOU’VE VISITED THAT HAVE INSPIRED YOU?
Our family loves to travel, and I am always inspired by the different architectures, materials, and cultural influence of each place. We recently visited Barcelona Spain and I was amazed by the unique architecture and amazing tile work. I was also so inspired by all of Gaudi’s work. He was truly a design genius!
DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR OTHERS CONSIDERING WORKING WITH AN INTERIOR DESIGNER?
My advice for someone who may be considering using a designer would be to call Brandeis & Adrianne! They’re so knowledgeable, talented, and trustworthy, and super fun to work with!

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE DESIGN PROCESS?
My favorite part about the design process is simply the fact that it takes all of the stress out of decorating for me. Brandeis & Adrianne are so talented and they have figured out exactly what I like. They take the guess work (and leg work) out of it all for me! And when things occasionally go wrong they are quick to handle it and make things right! That is something that I appreciate so very much. They want things to be right as much as I do!

WHAT WAS THE PRIMARY REASON YOU DECIDED TO WORK WITH AN INTERIOR DESIGNER?
I found Pillar & Peacock while flipping through a Scout Guide a couple of years ago. I loved the ad so I looked them up online and noticed they have an office in Florence Alabama, which is where I’m from! My mom knows Brandeis and told me how talented she is, so I decided to set up a meeting. I instantly felt like Brandeis & Adrianne understood me and my goals for our home, and I knew they would be helpful on many projects that I wanted to accomplish at our home in Huntsville and our lake home in Scottsboro.
ARE TEHRE ANY DESIGN TRENDS YOU’RE DRAWN TO? OR, EVEN TRENDS YOU DISLIKE?
I feel like I’m seeing a return to traditional decor and antiques a lot more lately, which I love! I don’t have too much trendy decor in my house as I know it is always fleeting. I like to invest in things that will stand the test of time.
